The Secret Andy Frey Project

Several months ago a friend of mine commissioned a painting. He wanted a fun composition that featured his favorite cartoon characters. He came up with the idea of placing them within the famous Dogs Playing Poker. I thought the idea was so fun and the project was a pleasure to complete. It took me a while to get motivated, but I think the final painting turned out great.

One Amazing Year

One year ago today, we brought Boomer home from the Humane Society. Steve and Vanessa drove us around the entire Phoenix metropolitan area that day, trying to find a dog we could connect with. We were just about to give up when we saw her. Her name was Lola then, and she charmed all of us with her sweet ears and rambunctious personality. She’s added so much to our lives and we are so glad we kept looking for her. This is a picture I took of her on her first day home. Happy Adoption Day, Boomer!

Twinsies

Every Sunday I look through Post Secret and occasionally I’ll see a secret I can relate to. This Sunday, however, I saw a secret that I could have written and sent in myself. Here is that secret plus a tweet I posted earlier this year in March. It’s always fun to see how similar we can be, even as strangers.

A postcard: “I love looking into people’s garages because I feel like the way they organize their garage reveals how they organize their thoughts.”a tweet by me: “I like looking into other people’s open garages to see the kinds of things they keep and how they organize them.”

Wedding Books

Crossing off another item on my 26 before 26 list, #26: Create wedding books for my parents and in-laws.

For two years, I’ve been meaning to make a wedding scrapbook of some sort for my parents and Clay’s parents. Scrapbooks can sometimes look cheesy or too craftsy, so I decided to use Apple’s iPhoto printing services. It’s quick, easy, and looks great. I’ll be sending these out this weekend and I hope they like them!

Crate and Barrel Dogs

Crate and Barrel just recently announced its line of pet products. There aren’t many so far, but what I’ve seen, I like. I especially love the houndstooth patterns and sophisticated style. For some reason they only carry large and small dog collars, beds, and bowls. I’m not sure if Boomer would fit either of those sizes, but I’d love to get her the green polka dot collar. So cute!
