Moonrise Kingdom
I finally saw Moonrise Kingdom this week. I’ve noticed I tend to procrastinate in seeing Wes Anderson’s latest films. Expectations are so high, I worry about disappointment. But, Moonrise Kingdom is so sweet, you’d have to be heartless not to love it. The scenes are beautiful and whimsical as Anderson always delivers, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as Sam and Suzy are awkward perfection. While this film doesn’t have the weight of a Life Aquatic or the smarts of a Royal Tenenbaums, it captures a charming innocence we can’t ignore.
Moonrise Kingdom
I’m super excited for the next Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdom to be released later this month. Of course there is already plenty of fan artwork for the film. I love this poster by designer Matt Needle. Can’t wait!
Moonrise Kingdom Trailer
The trailer for Wes Anderson’s new film Moonrise Kingdom. Can’t wait to see it.
Wes Anderson Tribute
Lately I’ve been obsessed with finding fun and different art for our house. I’ve had my eye on these prints by Tim Doyle, made for a Wes Anderson tribute show. I am enamored with Anderson’s films and love Doyle’s illustrated scenes. I’m just about to make the leap and order these and I can’t wait to hang them on my walls.

Extract and Fantastic Mr. Fox
Yesterday I saw Extract, Mike Judge’s new film starring Jason Bateman. It was pretty funny and had some memorable lines, but wasn’t anything to write home about. One of the previews before the movie was Fantastic Mr. Fox, a Wes Anderson film based on the Roald Dahl book. This is a movie I am very excited about. Not only do I love this book, but the film looks witty, whimsical, and distinctly Wes Anderson.
