Theo and Beau

Too much cuteness! Blogger Jessica Shyba (Momma’s Gone City) has shared photos of her son Beau napping with his new pup and friend Theo. She describes it as “the most organic and beautiful friendship I have ever witnessed.” And Oh. My. God. It is adorable.

This Huffington Post article has more photos and some Vine videos for even more squee.

Land of Nod

Way back in 2010, I posted Kid Stuff for Adults showcasing some neat home items from Crate and Barrel’s online kids store, Land of Nod.

They’ve really stepped up their game, offering beautiful and functional pieces for children. Some of their products are so stylish they could easily fit into an adult’s home as well. Here are a few of my favorites.

Expecting Henry

My brother and sister-in-law took some fun pregnancy photos this weekend with their friend and photographer Angela Dimler. They are quite the photogenic pair and the photos turned out great! I’m very excited to meet little Henry, who is due on Pi Day (3-14): a little nerd in the making. Here are a few of my favorites, and you can view the rest at Angela’s blog.

For Babes

Recently, two of our couple friends each found themselves expecting baby boys. So, naturally, I searched around for some fun and geeky onesies to give as gifts. I’m a little scared of babies, but not if they were wearing these! Not sure when Clay and I are going to have kids, but you can be sure we’ll be getting plenty of nerd-wear.

Favorite Children’s Books

Recently a few of our friends have announced they are expecting, and it got me thinking about baby shower gifts. Instead of the usual onesie or bottle, I think it’d be neat to receive books to fill the future child’s library. I’m sure everyone has different books they cherish from their childhood that would make for great gifts. Here are a few of my favorite early childhood books that I memorized and looked through over and over.

Kid Stuff for Adults

I’ve been looking through a lot of children’s furniture sites looking for whimsical and fun home goods that wouldn’t look out of place in a child-less home. Although we are expected to act grown-up in public, that doesn’t mean our homes have to be stiff and boring. Here are a few I found from Land of Nod, Crate and Barrel’s online kids store.

Clark and Addison night stand – $249
Sleepin’ Safari throw pillow – $19
